For those who want to experience Alaska, then the Alaskan Adventure tour is for you. Start off with a 7 night cruise along the stunning Inside Passage with ports of call along the way such as Juneau, Skagway and Glacier Bay. Dock in the vibrant city of Anchorage where you will have chance to explore before heading off to the historic village of Talkeenta. Travel deep into the heart of Denali National Park and learn about the gold rush in Fairbanks. Travel the great Alaskan Railroad in Goldstar service, to end your journey back in Anchorage.

Day 1: Arrive Vancouver
On arrival into Vancouver you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After settling into your room, get to know your fellow travellers and Tour Director at a Welcome Reception this evening. Hotel: Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.

Day 2. Vancouver, Embark Cruise
After breakfast, enjoy the remainder of the morning at leisure before boarding your ship for your magical seven-night Inside Passage Cruise. 7 nights on Holland America Line’s ms Statendam or ms Oosterdam (B, D)

Day 3: Inside Passage
Enjoy a full day at sea at the start of your journey along coastal British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle. Relax and absorb the incredible scenery as your ship wends its way past dramatic rocky headlands and glides over the frigid waters of the Inside Passage (B, L, D)

Day 4: Ketchikan
Arrive in Ketchikan this morning, known as the salmon capital of the world. After breakfast on board, disembark your ship and enjoy free time to explore the town’s many attractions, including the colourful houses and shops built over the water. Perhaps join a walking tour of the town or learn about Tlingit Indian culture at Saxman Native Village (both at own expense). Re-board your ship this afternoon, bound for Juneau (B, L, D)

Day 5: Juneau
Today, visit Juneau, Alaska’s capital. Located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, the massive Mendenhall Glacier and Juneau Icefields are at its back door. Spend some time in Juneau to take in the lush terrain or perhaps make your way to the town and visit the rustic shops. Alternatively, you may also like to experience a dog sled ride over a glacier, sample salmon baked over a fire or pan for gold. (all at own expense) (B, L, D)

Day 6: Skagway
Today you’ll dock at the port of Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Once a frontier town and gateway for the gold rush, there’s a variety of stores and saloons in town that capture the excitement of the gold rush days. While you’re here, you may like to explore independently. Alternatively, you can discover gold prospecting or view some of the local wildlife (own expense) (B, L, D)

Day 7: Glacier Bay
Wake to the breath-taking sight of Glacier Bay National Park this morning, with its formidable rivers of ice, wild coastline and sheltered fjords. As you cruise through the national park, it is easy to see why the area has received World Heritage status. Today, local rangers will join you on board to explain the geological wonders and diverse wildlife of this incredible region (B, L,D)

Day 8: Day at Sea
Relax and absorb the incredible surrounding scenery today as your premium ship cruises the Gulf of Alaska (B, L, D)

Day 9: Seward – Anchorage
Arrive in Seward this morning and disembark your ship after breakfast. Travel to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to see native wildlife up close. Like a local visit an authentic Alaskan Bush Pilot at their Lake Hood Hangar and learn about the importance of air travel in Alaska. Then, continue to the vibrant city of Anchorage. Hotel: Sheraton Anchorage Hotel or similar (B)

Day 10: Anchorage – Talkeetna
Travel to the historic village of Talkeetna today, nestled at the base of North America’s tallest peak, Mt McKinley. Like a Local - meet the champion sled dogs of the four-time Iditarod winner Martin Buser and learn all about this famous Alaskan race. Special Stay - enjoy unforgettable views of Mt McKinley from your authentic Alaskan Lodge. Hotel: Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge (B)

Day 11: Talkeetna - Denali National Park
Admire the incredible landscapes as you travel to Denali National Park today. On arrival, enjoy time at leisure or perhaps set off on one of the optional experiences that are available today. Your Travelmarvel Tour Director can help you choose an activity that best suits your interests. Hotel for 2 nights: Denali Park Resorts or similar (B)

Day 12: Denali National Park
After breakfast this morning, you’ll travel deep into the heart of Denali National Park’s wilderness during a unique tour led by a local. This excursion will provide a memorable experience in Denali. You’ll also enjoy hands-on activities and explore the works of characters such as Adolph Murie and contemporary park wildlife biologists, and discover the reasons why preservation is essential in this area. The afternoon is then yours to enjoy at leisure.(B)

Day 13: Denali National Park – Fairbanks
Journey to Fairbanks, known as the ‘golden heart city’, and here, learn about the gold rush that affected Alaska’s interior. Later, visit the Trans Alaska Pipeline then travel to North Pole to see the Santa Claus House. This evening, perhaps embark on an unforgettable optional Arctic Circle Flight. Departing Fairbanks, fly over the Yukon River, across the Arctic Circle, then over the Brooks Mountain Range. Land at Coldfoot, just north of the Arctic Circle, and enjoy a guided ground tour through one of the last great wilderness areas on earth (own expense). Day 14: Fairbanks Sightseeing
Take a leisurely cruise on the Chena River aboard a sternwheeler. A Taste of Fairbanks – tonight, enjoy an authentic salmon bake as a memorable Farewell Dinner. (B,D)

Day 15: Fairbanks – Anchorage
Farewell Fairbanks after breakfast this morning and travel to Anchorage on a wonderful full-day rail journey aboard the Alaska Railroad. Travelling in GoldStar Service, on the way, view glistening salmon streams, beaver lodges and magnificent birch forests from your glass-dome carriage; enjoy access to the upper-level outdoor viewing deck and exclusive lower-level dining room; and be treated to complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Hotel: Sheraton Anchorage Hotel or similar (B)

Day 16: Depart Anchorage
Your tour concludes after breakfast with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight (B)
